Driver Suspected of Drunk Driving in Fatal Auto Accident

Two 20-year-olds were killed in an East County auto accident; the driver is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

According to NBC San Diego, the driver, a 26-year-old San Diego resident, crashed into a concrete culvert after losing control of a Nissan Sentra while traveling at approximately 70 mph on I-8. The impact of the crash resulted in the death of two passengers.

The driver was treated at Sharp Hospital for serious injuries. The cause of the crash is still being investigated, but officials believe he may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, NBC reports.
